Baptisms
Holy Baptism is the sacrament of becoming a Christian. Both adults and children may be baptized and the Church understands baptism as the start of one’s life in Christ. It is the way a person begins a lifelong commitment to know and love and serve God as a follower of Jesus.
Baptism is a gift of God that comes through the Church and is celebrated in the gathered community of faith. Baptisms at All Saints’ are held on the four traditional baptismal feast days: Easter Eve (April), Pentecost (May or June), All Saints’ Day (November) and the Baptism of our Lord (January). We also schedule baptisms Sunday mornings at either the 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. service.
Adults wishing to be baptized will meet with a member of the clergy for a period of weeks in preparation for this major step in their faith journey. Parents of children and godparents meet with a member of the clergy for pre-baptismal instruction, usually in the week before the baptism.
Altar flowers for the service may be given to the glory of God and in thanksgiving for the baptism. The fee is $50 and the flowers are left at the altar to be distributed to the sick and shut-in afterwards. A donation to the Church is customary.
If you are interested in knowing more about baptism (for yourself or your child), please call the parish office at 908-647-0067 or e-mail the Rector at allsaints_rector@verizon.net.

Weddings
The Christian Church views marriage as a symbol and an expression of the love between Christ and his Church; a symbol and expression of how two people can love and live together. We want people not just to be married, but to be part of a joyous and growing experience of love, mutual support and encouragement. The relationship to the parish community and pre-marital consultation are considered to be integral steps in Christian marriage.
The priest officiates and solemnizes the marriage, blessing the union of husband and wife in the name of Christ and on behalf of God’s Church.
As a marriage is part of the life of the Christian community, the wedding service takes place in the Church. Services outside the church are performed at the discretion of the minister. Click here for additional information.

Funerals
Funerals and Memorial Services are a time to worship God in our grief and sadness, as well as to celebrate the life of the person who has died. We are supported by our Christian faith and our confidence in the sustaining power of Christ’s Resurrection.
The clergy will assist the family in planning the readings, psalms, hymns and instrumental music in consultation with the Director of Music. Flowers for the altar are provided by the family of the deceased. Afterwards, the flowers will be distributed to the sick and shut-ins. Fees for the services are as follows:

     • Organist $175 (soloists or other musicians are paid a professional fee).
     • Sexton $35.
     • Donation to the Church and/or individual clergy is at the discretion of the family, but is customary.

All Saints’ has a Memorial Garden in which ashes are interred directly into the ground. The cost of a garden plot is $300 which includes a bronze plate on the Church wall with the deceased’s name and dates. The Garden is always open for prayer and meditation.
The Parish House is available for receptions following the service. There is no cost for the use of this space. Catering arrangements are made by the family.
To arrange for a Funeral or Memorial Service please call the office at 908-647-0067.
Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.
